Shelley

Our greatest success story! Shelley- now Betty- has been adopted by the most wonderful woman! Annan has welcomed this girl to her home and her world after fostering Shelley for 2 weeks. She sees what we knew- that this dog is kind, gentle, devoted and just looking to relax into her new home.

We adopted her emaciated and heavily pregnant last year, from Bakersfield shelter. She was going to be euthanized sometime in the following week, either pregnant or with all her puppies. That’s just how it goes under the terrible overcrowding guidelines that they have to follow. If she had delivered in the shelter, her pups would have been exposed to cold, and disease, and probably would have died anyways…

We shoved her in the Tesla, got her home, situated and she gave birth 24 hours later to 6 beautiful pups. All her puppies are in loving homes today (I actually have one myself), and it’s been Shelley’s time to find love for a year!

Angi always says “we may have to wait, but the right person will present” for all our dogs. It could not be more true in this case.

We want to thank Annan for fostering, then adopting Shelley, and we need to thank Toni from “A Wish for Animals” for making this all happen! We feel SO blessed!
